Nominations Open

After a lengthy hiatus, the Genesis Awards is up and running and open for business!

Nomination threads are open and can be found in the Nominations sub-board in the main forums. Any registered member can nominate fanfics, even if they haven’t posted anywhere else. There’s a wealth of categories, so be sure to nominate all your favorite fics – or take a while to look at what’s been nominated so far; you’re sure to find a fic to your tastes.

eBooks

The Genesis Awards has officially launged the Fanfic eBook Project. T.Costa, leading the charge in this effort, is endeavoring to format a selection of well-winning and/or award-winning Fanfiction pieces for eReaders and smart phones free for download. At present, she is requesting submissions of both fanfiction pieces to be formatted and completed eBooks. For instructions on creating an eBook and a list of currently completed eBooks, visit the new eBook section on the main site. Be sure to snag a copy of the newly released eBook of Guardian1′s Sunshine in Winter while you’re there.

Contests

It’s a new year and a new quarter, which means the Winter Fanfiction and January Fanart contests are now open in the forums. Sai has a selection of creative prompts in Tifa’s Office for the Fanfiction contest, submissions closing March 25th. The submission deadline for the Fanart contest in the Drawing Box, meanwhile, is fast approaching. Be sure to have Regular and Junior submissions in to Renolvr by January 26th. We’re all looking forward to the results.

2012 may be the end of the world for the Mayans, but not so here at the Genesis Awards! In fact, there will be so much going on and it’ll be so glorious that it’ll make the London Olympics look like a 7 year old’s school sports day.

So let’s break it down:

• Nominations for the 2012-2013 Awards are now open!
• Fanfic and Fanart competitions are back!
• We’re working on a GA Newsletter!
• The Beta Boot Camp will be arriving at a GA forum near you!
• New E-Books and Audiobooks!

And finally, we will be completely updating the main site. As we’re beginning work now, don’t be alarmed if you stumble across one of our UNDER CONSTRUCTION pages.

After weeks of annoying (yet interesting) real life problems, T. Costa has managed to get the Fanfiction E-Book Project off the ground, starting with two e-books available for download. Go check them out!

I got things moving around these parts, but the majority of the content will hopefully be back in the next week or two. In the meantime, why not visit the forums?

The forums are now back online.

The current upgrade process has borked. We have a backup and are attempting to replace the old forums software with a fresh install. This may take a few days.

Edit: I’ve been working on the forums for the last five or six hours and I’m too tired to look at php files for any longer. I’ll put the forums back to right when I’ve got a few hours of sleep in me. I hope you guys can understand. – Tasha

We did some scheduled maintenance. Things will still be wonky around here for a day or two while I sort through the content and edit it, but the site is back up. Thanks for your patience.
